I can't believe it's already January! The holiday break went so much quicker than expected, and then all of a sudden, I was off to Minneapolis, Minnesota for four days. I had the extreme privilege of receiving an Endowment Fund from the University of Lethbridge, in order to travel to Minneapolis and partake in art-based workshops and visit local art galleries and centers. I was also extremely lucky to travel with three other art students and friends, Jacqueline, Courtney and Emma. In this blog post, I've highlighted a few of my favourite places we went and my favourite things we saw. Happy Holidays! I've been missing in action on the blog the past few months because I have been busy with school and markets, and now I have a bit of time to say "hi!", share a few of my favourite things, and talk about what's new and exciting for 2018! 2017 was great in a lot of ways, but I am ready to say goodbye and move on to bigger and better things. I really dug into my small business of selling pins and pom pom accessories, and started a part time job. I had the pleasure of traveling to San Francisco, Missoula and Portland with dear friends of mine. I completed two more semesters of my art degree. This definitely was a year of growth and change, and while some of it was hard, when looking back, I wouldn't have had it any other way.
As usual, and like most people, I am trying to set "goals" for the new year. I will definitely work on going to bed when I need to, budgeting my money, and focusing on my artistic practice in the next year. One of my top goals for 2018 is to wear only clothing that I 100% love the style and the material of, and to only buy from companies and businesses that I want to support. One of my favourite companies I love to support is Luella!Click 'Read More' to read about why I love Luella and to check out the cutest Willie Nelson-inspired tee!Read More
It's been a while since I traveled to Portland but it's never too late to share my favourite things I experienced while we were there in August! First of all, driving from Southern Alberta to Portland, Oregon takes about 14 hours, and while it may be exhausting, I honestly think it's worth it. Portland is diverse and colourful, and full of great eats, great shops, and great music! If I could, I would move to Portland in a heartbeat. I will be back very soon, even if it means another 28 hours of driving.Read More
