Hello! My name is Meghan MacWhirter, I'm an eighteen year old, living in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. I am currently an art student, studying art and marketing at the Univeristy of Lethbridge. I currently have an art exhibition, "Meghan MacWhirter: An Art Exhibition" running at Blueprint Records, from November 29th to January 30th.
Through my blog, I hope to share my personal style, my inspiration, my art work, and tid bits from my daily life. I also hope to explore fashion and art within my own community.
Outside of schooling and working, I am a feminist activist, and volunteer. I have volunteered for local projects including The Vagina Monologues, Lethbridge Girls Rock Camp, and CKXU Love and Records Music Festival. I am a constant contributor to a local, feminist and queer friendly art collective and zine, Fourth Wave Freaks. I, along with Kristin Krein and Jared Etches, were interviewed by BUST magazine about the zine for their online blog.
I enjoy reading books, wandering museums and art galleries, collecting antiques and oddities, eating expensive cheeses, drinking Shirley Temple's, getting dressed up daily, the 1920's-1960s, baking, doing squats, photography, burlesque, watching Bob's Burgers, vintage lingerie and stockings, and my cats and corgi.
I constantly find myself being inspired by the likes of Audrey Hepburn (my queen), Kate Spade, Sofia Coppola, Jessica Rabbit, Wes Anderson, Marlene Dietrich, Amy Poehler, Dita Von Teese, Baz Luhrmann, Hedy Lamarr and Jessica Lange.
I am always up for art and photography commissions. I have recently done album covers and gig posters for a local band, as well as a skateboard deck. I have also done the cover for an issue of Fourth Wave Freaks. Please take a look at my art in my gallery or on my Society6 page, and feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
