This post is pretty last minute, but can you believe it's already a day until 2015?! I've decided to ring in the new year with some New Year's Eve style inspiration. I know I am going to be wearing my 1930's black velvet gown tomorrow night. If any of you are in Lethbridge on New Year's Eve, I suggest that all of you join me at The Owl Acoustic Lounge for Punk Rock Prom Night featuring a special set by The Yeah Dads and The Ruby Plumes (two of my favourite Lethbridge bands!). It's going to be a wonderful night full of magic and punk rock!
For the past couple New Year's parties I've attended, I warm up for going out by listening to a lot of Bowie and Prince, and putting on a velvet dress, and this year will be no exception. Every morning after New Year's Eve, I wake up covered in glitter and my own lipstick (oops). This year, I would like to carry my own tradition, while looking more glamorous than ever. The perfect New Year's Eve dress can go a long way, or at least make you look a little more put together than you really are.
Marina Diamandis of Marina and the Diamonds has the perfect aesthetic in her music video for her song 'Froot'. Her new album, dropping April 2015, has to be my most anticipated album of the new year, and this video shows why. What's better than old Hollywood glamour, with a touch of neon and fruit? I'm feeling so inspired for New Year's Eve!
