I had the extreme pleasure of attending my first ever Lethbridge Fashion Weekend this last Friday, and already can't wait to attend next year. It's a wonderful feeling being able to acknowledge and admire talent I had no idea existed right in my home city. Each designer brought something completely different and equally exciting to the table, making me wish I was talented enough to sew my own pieces. I unfortunately only managed to get photos of four out of six designers work but here are some samples of Fall collections coming out of Lethbridge this year!
The above collection is "donell" by Donell Kollias. For her Fall 2015 collection, Kollias focused on sophisticated comfort by adding a feminine flair to sport and lounge wear inspired pieces. Her delicate floral patterns and use of burgundy are perfect for autumn, just adding the right amount of colour to your casual wardrobe.
Shelly Kanyo Studios by Shelly Kanyo definitely struck a chord with me. She says, ""This collection has become a kind of resort collection with transitional pieces that can be layered for cooler weather or paired down for vacation weather! It's a bold colour palette of hot pink, black, white and blue. I never shy away from pattern and in this collection there is a definite nod to the 60's." I couldn't say it any better. (I'll definitely be purchasing a dress from this collection!)
Penny Lane by Steph Hogan was a beautifully articulated collection reminiscent of the 70's. Low necklines, maxi dresses and lace were main components of this wonderful collection. This fall collection has the perfect vintage, earth tones for your fall wardrobes and layering needs!
The final collection was Aniimiism by Cassie Dee, who was recently featured in Vogue magazine. She says that the collection captures print inspiration from the cosmos in bohemian silhouettes. This collection is gorgeous and instantly reminded me of Valentino's Pre-Fall 2015 collection.
