As a person running a vintage inspired fashion blog, one of my favourite decades is the 1960's. The 60's were a time where fashion rapidly changed and progressed over a mere ten years, with multiple different design styles. While a lot of people think of the 60's as the flower child hippie decade, that style was mostly only popular in the last two years of the sixties, and moving on into the seventies. There were so many styles during the 60's, like there is today, that it's very difficult to describe the sixties in one single outfit.
One of my favourite looks of the 60's is the beatnik. Tight knit tops, high waisted cigarette pants, and resting bitch face are the staples of the 1960's beatnik, pulp fiction reading, modern girl. The Original Bad Girl encapsulates beatnik chic, and is now sold at Drunken Sailor (where I also work!) in Lethbridge, Alberta. The retro-inspired "riot top", that we now have in store from XS-2X will keep you looking cool, when you're not having dress days. Come into Drunken Sailor to treat yourself to your own showstopper of a top.
P.S.!!! If you come into Drunken Sailor, and mention this post or my Instagram post featuring this outfit, you will receive the Riot Top at 10% off. I hope to see you soon!
